CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
A seat belt and airbags saved a driver's life after she slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler Friday morning.
The accident happened around 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of FM 624 and Lariat in Calallen. State troopers said the driver of the Toyota Truck crashed into an 18-wheeler after the big rig slowed down to navigate traffic.
The driver of the Toyota suffered only minor injuries. Trooper said she can thank her seat belt and airbags for that. The driver of the 18-wheel was also unhurt.
The driver of the Toyota will be getting a traffic ticket for following too closely.
