CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Looking to make a difference in the life of an at-risk child? Then consider "stuffing the bus!"

The goal, by the end of the day, is to have pens, paper, crayons and calculators spilling out of the doors and windows of big yellow school busses. You will find one parked in front of six different HEB stores around the Coastal Bend until 8 p.m. Friday.

The school supply drive is hosted by Communities in School, a drop-out prevention program. On Friday, HEB donated $5,000 towards their drive.

"This was such a great surprise," said Gloria Taylor, "We are so appreciative."

"I've been involved with Community in Schools for quite some time now," said Paul Heney, unit manager of the HEB on Kostoryz. "For me, what's very touching about it is the stories from the children, and how they tell you Community in Schools have taught them to have dreams. It's given some of the children hope."

The Stuff the Bus Campaign runs through 8 p.m. Friday at the HEB stores at Kostoryz, the one on Alameda and Roberts, in Flour Bluff, Portland, Rockport, Alice, Annaville and Kingsville.
