The Lindale Senior Center in Corpus Christi is now home to a brand new program for caregivers.
A ribbon cutting was held Friday for a new resource center called Caregiver SOS. It's the fifth center of its kind in Texas. The idea is to offer one-on-one assistance, education and wellness activities for seniors and their caregivers.
"A lot of times, people get diagnosed with terminal illnesses, disease," caregiver specialist Mary Ann Mondragon said. "They don't know where to go, or where to start. They've never been through anything like that before. We will provide those resources for them."
Caregiver SOS is a part of the Well-Med Charitable Foundation, a non-profit organization.
