Power has been restored to refinery row and the surrounding area.
Hundreds of people were without electricity for most of Saturday afternoon after a power outage at the Markwest Javelina Plant.
The outage happened around 11:00 AM. Flaring has been going on ever since then to decrease the pressure so the power can be restored.
An investigation is currently underway to determine what caused the outage. Meantime, residents are a little shaken up.
The TCEQ is monitoring air quality outside and inside facility. A spokesperson for Javelina says they expect to be back on-line sometime Saturday evening.
