A quick-thinking victim kept himself safe during a confrontation with a robbery suspect.
Police responded to the 3600 block of Bryan Drive near Phelan Boulevard Friday night to a report of a person being robbed. A 66-year-old man told officers he was walking back home from the store when a man approached him and asked the named of the street.
As the victim began to answer, the man pulled a handgun and demanded money.
The victim tossed his wallet on the ground in one direction and moved away in the other direction.
The robber picked up the wallet and ran away.
Police say because of his quick thinking,the senior citizen was not injured.
At last check, the robber has not been arrested.
