Beaumont fire inspectors say a north Beaumont blaze appears to have been deliberately set.
At 12:28 a.m. Saturday firefighters were called to a home located at 4190 Pine Street. When they arrived they found a garage and house were both on fire.
A fire department spokesperson says the fire in the garage appears to have been deliberately set. The fire spread to the house and caused heavy damage.
The person who lived at the house was able to get out without injury. The American Red Cross was called to help with temporary living arrangements.
Investigators say they have a possible suspect identified and the investigation is ongoing.
A firefighter was taken to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth and treated for heat-related injuries.
Firefighters were on the scene until 2:15 a.m.
