If you have ever dreamed of being a film director, then the South Texas Underground Film Organization might be the best place to start realizing your Hollywood ambitions.
The organization met Sunday at the Art Center to screen some of its members' films. It's all in preparation for the group's film festival coming up on Sept. 21-27.
The Underground Film Festival accepts shorts, demos, trailers and just about anything that expresses the art of film.
"It's a challenge for all filmmakers, just to get them interested in filmmaking as a way to express themselves, to learn about the process in the limited time they have," said Mariella Perez, executive director of the South Texas Underground Film Festival.
"Being a painter, an artist, I wanted to put my canvas on film so to say," filmmaker David Soliz said.
To join the organization is free, and all ages are welcome. For this film festival, entries have come from countries like Mexico and from nearby cities like San Antonio and Victoria.
