THREE RIVERS (Kiii News) -
One man is dead after two 18-wheelers collided on FM 624.
The crash happened on State Highway 16 and FM 624, twenty miles west of Three Rivers. A passerby sent a picture to the Kiii-TV newsroom.
Department of Public Safety troopers said 27-year old Jorge Luis Rios from Rio Grande, TX, died when the driver of the other 18-wheeler failed to yield the right of way. The impact caused an explosion that destroyed both trailers.
The driver of the other 18-wheeler, 30-year old Dalton Ray Stuart, was transported to a nearby hospital by EMS. Troopers said Stuart will be cited for failing to yield the right of way. There has been no word if he will faces additional charges.
