It is going to be a little tougher to get the sand out of your chassis after some substantial damage to the car wash on the Island.
Police reported that around 9 p.m. Sunday, a vehicle went through the wash at the Island Car Wash at 14443 SPID, and damaged the car wash machinery. The total cost to repair the damage is estimated at $175,000.
It is unclear if the driver, who took off, intentionally or accidentally caused the damage, so once the driver is located they could be charged with a Class-C misdemeanor, or more.
The car wash is expected to be out of commission for more than a month.
