CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
HEB donated $15,000 to the Food Bank of Corpus Christi Tuesday. The money comes from the End Hunger Campaign, which took place May 9-July 15.
During those months, folks who shopped at area HEBs had the chance to donate to the campaign by tearing off one of those $1, $2 or $3 coupons available at checkout stands.
"Really, what we want to do here is recognize our customers for understanding, and want to give back to fighting hunger here in the State of Texas and Corpus Christi area," said Danny Flores of HEB public affairs.
HEB collected over $444,000 from 15 stores around the state to benefit 16 different food banks.
