Police look for armed robber after stabbing

A 23-year-old Port Arthur man is recovering from stab wounds after his encounter with an armed robber in the 700 block of Sabine Avenue.

The man told police he was walking to his front door when the robber walked up, pulled out a knife, and ordered him to turn over his cash. When he told the robber he didn't have any, the robber stabbed him. The two struggled and the robber stabbed the man a few more times to get away.

The empty-handed robber ran away, jumping into a nearby vehicle. No one has seen him since the robbery, but officers hope to change that and charge the man with the crime.

Detectives from the Port Arthur Criminal Investigations Division are handling the investigation.
