According to police, a verbal altercation led a homeowner to pull a gun on some neighborhood kids. He was taken to jail on a charge of deadly conduct.
It all happened just after 7 p.m. Thursday on Alamo Street, off Port and Baldwin. Police said the man was sitting in his front yard when the kids walked by. After exchanging some words, it turned into an armed threat.
"We had a couple of kids walking home from the store and apparently one of the homeowners on Alamo Street exchanged words with them, and during that exchange of words, that homeowner, for some unknown reason, pulled out a shotgun, aimed it at the children and exchanged some more words," said Sr. Officer Marco Benavides with the Corpus Christi Police Department. "The kids in turn ran down the street and called the police."
The homeowner told officers that he felt the kids were responsible for crimes in the area.
