CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Ray Madrigal has thrown his hat in the ring for mayor of Corpus Christi. He is a long-time veterans' rights activist in this community.

"I served my country in the military from 1960-63, and now I want to serve my community," Madrigal said.

Madrigal officially filed to run for mayor at City Hall Friday.

He ran a photography business in the Coastal Bend for over 50 years, but he is best known for leading the efforts of local veterans to save Memorial Coliseum from demolition.

He will be facing off against Councilwomen Chris Adler and Nelda Martinez, and retired contract engineer outlaw Josey Wales, IV, on Nov. 6.
