CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
The driver of a John Deer tractor unknowingly snagged some low-hanging power lines, pulling down two poles at 11 a.m. Friday on Sedwick Road.
Both of the poles snapped, one of them landing dangerously close to a home in that area, near Southern Minerals Road.
A witness said the driver of the tractor climbed out of his vehicle while the downed wires were still hot, but there were no injuries as a result of the incident.
Police said no tickets will be issued. The stretch of road was closed for a few hours while American Electric Power worked to de-electrify the wires.
