CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Most are told to have a hurricane evacuation plan. Our city's Animal Control certainly had one, and when City Hall found out about it they were shocked.
"Their hurricane response plan was to euthanize all of the animals, which is totally unacceptable," Assistant City Manager Troy Riggs said. "So we continued to find problems after problems. Problems with the facility. Problems with management of the facility."
Riggs is set to give the city manager an update on what has been done to clean up Animal Control. The Corpus Christi Police Department has been put in charge of the place, and Riggs said that things were so bad there that it has taken three top-level veteran police administrators to get things right.
This year, the department's budget is being expanded, and more officers could be hired in the future.
