San Antonio Man Struck, Killed by 18-Wheeler on I-37 - KiiiTV3.com South Texas, Corpus Christi, Coastal Bend

A 49-year old man was killed after he was struck by an 18-wheeler around 2 a.m. Tuesday, on I-37 about two miles north of Three Rivers.

Department of Public Safety troopers said John Frances Lewis of San Antonio initially crashed into a parked vehicle on that stretch of road. When he got out of his car to check the damage, he stepped into the roadway and was struck by the 18-wheeler.

Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not cited.
