Convenience Store Clerk Threatened by Knife-Wielding Robber

Officers were called to the Stripes convenience store on the 4500 block of Ayers just before 5 a.m., where a 57-year old clerk was threatened by a robber with a knife.

The clerk said she was mopping the floor when a man walking into the store wielding a knife. She complied with the robber's demands, but he then swung the knife at her.

The clerk grabbed a wet floor sign and used it as a weapon. The suspect was able to knock the sign away, and took an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male who is five-foot four, and weighs 160-180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, a white shirt with thin blue stripes and checkered shorts.
