Jasper deputies arrests four in fatal shooting

Jasper County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested and charged four people following a shooting death Friday night.

Deputies were called to a home on County Road 219 in Brookeland in northern Jasper County at approximately 7:46 p.m. When they got to the house they found the homeowner, a 40-year-old man, faced down with wounds to his head, face and upper torso. He was deceased.

Four suspects ran into the woods behind the home and deputies began searching for them.

Investigators say three males and one female were found and taken into custody. All the suspects were taken to the Jasper County Sheriff's office where deputies say three of the four confessed.

The three males were charged with first-degree murder. The female is charged with failure to report a felony.
