Three people are killed in a two car accident one mile outside Mathis.

According to DPS Troops, around 9:00 Friday night, .a Honda Fit heading northbound on I-37 veered off the road, struck a concrete barrier, flipped, and landed on top of a Volkswagen.

One person inside the Honda died at the scene, the other is still recovering in the hospital.

Two people inside the Volkswagen - one 18, the other 19....died at the scene.
the other two were Halo flighted to the hospital where they remain in serious condition.
