A 33-year old from San Antonio lost his life in a tragic accident over the weekend, 10 miles south of Bishop. His 26-year old passenger is in critical condition.
According to Department of Public Safety troopers, 33-year old Adam Renteria was behind the wheel when a tire blew out near FM 892 and FM 70 on Sunday. The vehicle veered off the road and flipped several times before landing in a field.
Both Renteria and his passenger, 26-year old Caroline Escobedo, were ejected from the vehicle.
Renteria was pronounced dead at the scene, and Escobedo is in critical condition at Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital.
