Health Department Reports Fourth Local Case of West Nile Virus

The local Health Department has reported its fourth case of West Nile virus this year in Nueces County.

A man between the ages of 45-60, went into the emergency room with symptoms, but did not require hospitalization. The patient has since returned to work and is doing well.

Two other patients diagnosed with West Nile have also recovered, though one patient, a Corpus Christi woman who contracted the virus in Austin, passed away from the illness. She was said to have underlying health conditions.
