A dump truck filled with sand caused a headache for drivers on Highway 44 in Robstown Tuesday morning when the driver lost control and flipped on its side, blocking the road for hours.

It happened around 11:15 a.m. The driver lost control of the vehicle, ran off road and then over-corrected, flipping the truck on its side. The truck blocked the road and spilled diesel fuel and sand on the road.

An environmental cleanup company was on the scene, taking care of the mess. The driver of the truck was not hurt, but was ticketed for causing the accident.
