Sno-Ball Celebrates 40th Anniversary with 1972 Prices

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A great bargain can keep you cool in these hot temperatures while celebrating what has become a Corpus Christi icon: the Sno-Ball.

Mrs. Nice, a.k.a. Sofia Hernandez, and her husband started Sno-Ball back in 1972 on the 3800 block of Baldwin. Since then, generations of families have made this sweet treat a part of their tradition, starting out with the original Sno-Ball in 1972, and expanding in 1992 to their second location on Everhart.

And it all started out with one man's vision.

"My dad had a dream of starting this business when we were very young," said Jennifer Hernandez of Sno-Ball. "He ended up telling us it was because he wanted to keep us kids out of trouble, and he wanted us working. It's pretty much how we ended up, and we've done it ever since."

To celebrate its 40th year, the folks at Sno-Ball said they will be offering up their delicious treats at only 15 cent on Tuesday at the company's original location on Baldwin. That was their original price way back when it first opened in 1972.
