CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Rock goddess Lita Ford drew quite a crowd at Disc-Go-Round, a local record store, on Wednesday. She's in town to play a show at Brewster Street Ice House.

The 53-year old British-born American rocker is currently on tour with Def Leppard and Poison.

In 1975, Ford joined the Runaways. She and Joan Jett helped put girl rock on the map. She eventually began a solo career that is still going strong.

"We're here to meet Lita Ford," said Beverly Dickson, a Ford fan. "We're kids of the 80s. We grew up with her. She's a rocker. We love her to death."

"Lita Ford is one of the original members of the Runaways from the mid 70s, and like, they were a child of the 80s," said Ralph Garcia, another fan. "I'm a child of the 70s, so I got a good taste of them, and one listen to them is all it took. There's Joan Jett and Lita right next to her."

"We're glad to be in Corpus Christi tonight," Ford said. "Today is our day off, so this is what we do on our day off. You know, we have a couple of cocktails, get onstage and we rock it."

Ford ended up signing guitars, photos and even a fan's arm. That fan said she is going to get a tattoo artist to go over the signature and make it permanent.
