The third annual Warrior's Weekend Heroes Cup fishing event kicked off in Rockport on Friday. 31 veterans and active military men and women, who were injured while fighting the War on Terror in Iraq and Afghanistan, participated in the event.
Each warrior had their own guide to help them with their fishing expedition.
"This is a big break from being at the military base and being in the WTB," said Alexis Scott, who caught the biggest redfish during the event. "It's nice to get out in the water because I'm from California, so naturally growing up on the coast, you miss the ocean. Even if I didn't catch anything, I still would have had a good time."
