Villa Apartments Stabbing Leaves Man in Critical Condition

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A stabbing Tuesday night in the 700 block of Villa Drive, off Leopard and Up River Road, left a man in critical condition.

Police said it was just after 7:30 p.m. when the victim was stabbed multiple times in the back and legs at the Villa Apartments. He was transported to Christus Spohn Memorial in critical condition.

Investigators are still trying to piece together a motive. Witnesses said four men took part in the assault and took off in a white Kia van. As for a weapon, police were looking on the roofs of the complex to see what they could find.

"The reason we were looking through the roofs was we were looking for the weapon," said Lt. Edward Longoria of the Corpus Christi Police Department. "We still have not located the weapon, and we believe that it was possible that the weapon was tossed on the roof, so we called for the fire department because they have ladders. We used their ladders to get up on the roof and check."

Police are on the look out for the white Kia van last seen with four Hispanic males inside. If you have any information that could lead to an arrest, please call Crimestoppers at 361-888-8477.
