A senior military official has confirmed that U.S. Troops stationed outside of the country could be called upon in upcoming days to provide additional security at embassy installations.
According to the military official, no new deployments will take place, but he could not provide details as to how many units could be involved.
This is all happening after an attack on U.S. diplomats in Libya, which took place on Tuesday. The Pentagon is working with the State Department to put into action an order from President Obama to increase diplomatic security around the world.
