TAMUCC Gets Head Start Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

You may not know this, but Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off this weekend, and on Thursday night, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi was getting an early start on the celebration.

Mariachis were just part of the entertainment at the special event put on by the Island Cultural Alliance and Student Activities Organizations.

The university's Latin and Ballroom Dance Club performed, as well as a special Azteca Dance Group. There were even free Salsa lessons.

Hispanic Heritage Month actually kicks off on Saturday, and goes on until Oct. 15.
