CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Police are warning of a new text message scam, where the sender claims to be from Bank of America, and wants you to send your credit card information.
"I call that number and I get a voice recording to please enter your 16-digit Bank of America card number," said Dr. Hugo Guido, who received the scam text. "Well that immediately concerned me."
Guido said he received the text Thursday morning from the scammers, prompting him to call a certain number. When he heard the message, alarm bells went off.
Police said they have received numerous reports about the scam. They said the phone number does not belong to Bank of America, and under no circumstance should you reply to the text or call the number. They say simply delete the message.
