The school year has just begun and some local high schoolers were getting an early look at what college has to offer.
On Friday at Incarnate Word Academy, representatives from several different colleges were on hand to meet with students one-on-one. Baylor, Trinity University and St. Edwards were just a few of the schools that had a presence there.
"It's pretty valuable because you have this new insight, and you are capable of learning all of these new things that you didn't know before, and you have a one on one connection," said Katia Mendizabao, a senior at IWA.
"I have lots of questions," said Taylor Hubbard, a senior at IWA. "I find the whole application process to be nerve racking, and I felt like she was able to help me feel more confident in my application to St. Edwards."
This past weekend, Incarnate Word played host to more than 200 parents and students as part of their annual College Fair.
