The Corpus Christi Police Department said a couple left their children in a van to go party in a local club early Sunday morning.
Police said the 31-year old mother, Araceli Martinez, and the 37-year old father, Raul Nava, left their four kids in a van while they were at a club off of Ayers Street. The four children, between the ages of four-nine years old, were at the club for a party when the children became sleepy.
That's when the father put them in the van, leaving the air conditioner on. He later returned to the van to turn it off.
Police were notified, and they found Martinez and Nava intoxicated inside the club. Both parents were arrested and charged with abandonment of a child and public intoxication. The children were released to a family member.
