Investigators say alcohol played a part in a July 30th accident in Beaumont that claimed the life of a Louisiana woman. The Beaumont Police Department Tuesday said it is asking the District Attorney to file charges in the case.
Amber Roussel, 31, was killed on July 30 in an accident on Interstate 10 near Pine Street.
According to 12News HD file stories, the driver of a white pickup heading eastbound was driving erratically and lost control of the truck. The truck went airborne and crashed into a concrete divider. The impact broke the bumper off of the vehicle, sending it into westbound traffic.
The bumper hit another vehicle. The impact with the bumper killed Amber V. Roussel. The accident also injured Ryan Roussel.
Traffic Unit Investigators presented the case file to the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office for review.
Beaumont Police Department says it has requested that the D.A. pursue prosecution of Derek Wesley McBride, 24, for the intoxication assault of Ryan Roussel and for intoxication manslaughter for the death of Amber Roussel.
