City elections are fast approaching, and on Tuesday night, there will be another candidate's forum, this one at the Fire Union Hall on Ayers.
The favorites in the Mayor's race, council members Nelda Martinez and Chris Adler, will be there. They are both veteran politicians who know how to get elected, but this is the first time either has run for Mayor.
"We have a strong campaign and diverse support from all across the community, and frankly, I love what I do," Martinez said. "I'm having a ball. I'm prepared to lead the city, and I'm ready to take it across the finish line."
"It's a lot of work, but the work pays off in that the more things I write about, and have to dig for information because I'm answering questions all the way from the Island to Calallen and all points in between, I'm finding out a lot of things," Adler said.
There are two other candidates in the running for the job. The Outlaw Josey Wales and Ray Madrigal are hoping to follow Joe Adame as the city's next Mayor.
