Troy Riggs Introduced to City of Indianapolis Tuesday
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Troy Riggs was officially introduced to the City of Indianapolis on Tuesday, where he is set to take over as the new Public Safety Director.
Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard introduced Riggs at a press conference Tuesday morning. Riggs will inherit several major public safety department issues, ranging from a multi-million dollar budget deficit to a shortfall of police officers on the street.
"I would like to move that up, and I would like to get an excess of 50 and continue to move that up in the future," Riggs said. "It's going to take some time. I think over time, they will see more officers, and not only more officers but they will have more interaction with the police officers."
Riggs is scheduled to start as Public Safety Director on Oct. 29.
