Nagy, Martin Win Titles in Islanders Open

Corpus Christi (Kiii Sports)- Peter Nagy and Maider Martin took home titles on Tuesday night in the singles finals of the Marco & Co. Catering Islanders Open Tennis Tournament.

Championship night featured four Islander players and an enthusiastic crowd at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center across from the new Momentum Campus at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Nagy, from Budapest Hungary, won the Men's Championship with a straight-set victory over teammate Matt Westmoreland.

Maider Martin had a much tougher match against Islander teammate Stefania Nicolae. The two women split the first two sets before Martin prevailed 10-6 in the Super Tie-Breaker.
