Beaumont police investigate overnight shooting

Beaumont police are investigating a shooting the happened near the corner of Lincoln Street and Brooklyn Street in south Beaumont.

911 dispatchers received the call around 1 a.m.

Officers say witnesses told them someone shot at two men. At least one of the men was hit. He received a gunshot wound to the chest.

The gunshot victim was taken to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. Investigators told 12News HD he has since been discharged from the hospital.

The other person who was shot at fled the scene. He has not been located and officers have not said if he was struck by a bullet.
