More than 400 oil and gas companies are converging on the American Bank Center for a first of its kind expo.
"We are having an oil and gas trade show here in the Eagle Ford Shale area to bring the technology and networking opportunities to the oil and gas industry," said Mitzi Barnes, director of marketing for the South Texas Oilfield Expo.
The trade expo was brought to town by Texas Classic Productions. More than 2,000 exhibitors were in town on Wednesday, and will be here Thursday showing off the latest in oil and gas technology.
More than 15,000 people are attending the expo. It is the first South Texas Oilfield Expo, but it may become an annual event.
