Lumberton ISD seeks waiver on class size

The Lumberton I.S.D. school board Thursday morning agreed to request a state waiver that would increase the number of students in the classroom.

The state mandate is one teacher to 22 students, but because enrollment has been on the rise the board agreed to apply for the waiver.

There are a number of Kindergarten and second grade classes that are exceeding 22 students already.

Some parents worry that will have a direct affect on their children's education.
