Texas A&M University-Kingsville Athletic Director Brian DeAngelis has resigned from his post after just over six weeks on the job.
The news came as a shock to most in the Javelina athletic community. DeAngelis spent seven years as an assistant athletic director at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi before leaving to become the athletic director at East Central State in 2007.
He then applied for the athletic director's job in Kingsville in 2009, and was hired this summer in his second try after stressing a desire to return to South Texas.
Though his plans are unknown, it is of note that he left East Central on very good terms, and they have yet to hire his replacement.
