A small Corpus Christi business is giving up a portion of their sales for diabetes research.
"We wanted to help the Diabetes Association, and I know there are a lot of events for that, and we wanted to come in and help with that," said Mari Mendoza of La Boutique.
Mendoza has decided to donate 10-percent of their sales from Wednesday's profits to the local chapter of the American Diabetes Association. They held a Fall Fashion Showcase Wednesday night to celebrate the cause.
Mendoza said they wanted to donate the money to show support for her husband, who was diagnosed with diabetes. The group said they plan to make this an annual event.
