TAMUK AD Calls It Quits- After Just Six Weeks

Posted: Updated:

Kingsville (Kiii Sports)- For the second time since May, Texas A&M-Kingsville will begin the search for a new Athletic Director- as newly hired Brian DeAngelis has abruptly resigned after just six weeks on the job.

DeAngelis appeared to be in good spirits and very positive about his job during a radio interview during halftime of the Javelina football game on Saturday evening, but he was turning in an apparent un-forced resignation three days later.

Scott Gines, a former Javelina AD who helped lure DeAngelis from East Central Oklahoma this summer, will serve as interim Athletic Director while the search for a successor to DeAngelis begins.
