Vets raise money for Vietnam memorial

A group of Southeast Texas Vietnam Veterans took a motorcycle ride for a worthy cause Saturday.

Beaumont is the first city to hold a "Welcome Home Brother" fundraising ride. The ride honors Texas veterans who served in Vietnam..

Organizers of the event and future events to be held statewide hope to raise $50,000 to help build the Texas Capital Vietnam Veteran's monument in Austin.

The ride in Beaumont was sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 292 which is also celebrating its 25th anniversary.
