CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
A 14-year old is not who you would expect to be driving a car, but that is what police found at a checkpoint early Monday morning.
The discovery was made just after midnight on Sacky and Richter. Officers said a 14-year old female, her eight-year old sister and a 12-year old boy were out on a joyride. Authorities also noticed the smell of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The driver said she waited for her mom to fall asleep and then took the car.
The male passenger was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center for possession of marijuana, and the two girls were turned over to their mother and issued citations for violation of curfew.
