Local Car Enthusiasts Donate to Timon's Ministries

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A local group of classic car enthusiast turned their passion into a big donation for a local charity on Tuesday.

The Coastal A's and Rods car club turned over a check for $500 to Timon's Ministries, a Flour Bluff organization that provides meals and medical care for low-income families and the uninsured.

The classic car group used a car show back on Memorial Day to raise the funds.

"We were thrilled," said Kae Berry, executive director of Timon's Ministries. "We were absolutely thrilled that some folks, not necessarily here in Flour Bluff, know about us and feel what we are doing was making a difference."

"They were overwhelmed," said John Peck of the Coastal A's and Rods. "They say it was a much needed donation for them. They can make go it far."

Timon's Ministries estimates that they feed between 80-100 people a day, and hand out over four tons of food a month to the less fortunate.
