Beaumont police make arrest in north-end murder

Posted:

Officers have made an arrest in an August north-end murder.

Jacoby Holman, of Beaumont, was arrested Thursday morning in the 2200 block of Hazel Avenue.  Officers say he is responsible for the August 27th shooting death of Trazayre Sanders in the 1800 block of Glasshouse Street.

According to 12News HD file stories, around 10 p.m. the day of the shooting, 911 dispatchers began getting calls from people who heard gunshots.  When officers arrived at the house, they found Sanders with multiple gunshot wounds.  He was taken to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth where doctors pronounced him dead.

About 20 minutes later, Holman showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his hip.  He told police he did not know who shot him.

Officers began investigating Holman's shooting and that of Sanders as two separate shootings.  On Thursday, their investigation resulted in Holman's arrest.

Holman's bond is set at $100,000.
