Port Arthur police stopped an auto theft and burglary suspect cold with a traffic stop early Thursday morning.

Around 1 a.m. an officer tried to pull over a car with a missing license plate and no tail lights.  The driver pulled into a parking lot and fled on foot.

After apprehending the man, police determined the vehicle was stolen from Figuerora's storage yard on Gulfway Drive and the business had been burglarized as well.

Police found stolen property on the man and charged him with burglary of a building, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading arrest.

The suspect was taken to the Jefferson County jail.
