Man Sent to Hospital with Head Trauma After Motorcycle Accident
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Police said speed may have been a factor in an accident that threw a motorcyclist off his bike on Thursday.
It happened just before 6:30 a.m. along Airline Road near Alameda. Police said the driver of a pickup truck pulled onto Airline and collided with the motorcycle.
The rider flew off of his bike. He was wearing a helmet, but still suffered head injuries. He was taken to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital.
The driver of the truck was cited for failing to yield the right of way at the stop sign, but police also noticed that the bike's speedometer was locked at 60 miles per hour. The posted limit on that stretch of Airline Road is 35 miles per hour.
