PORTLAND (Kiii News) -

Thursday may not have been the prettiest day to play golf, but some braved the elements to help out a worthy cause.

"These funds help not only send kids to camp in the summer months, but also allows to engage in a campers throughout the school year and calendar year," said Matt Moehrig, founder of Still Water Christian Ministries. "Our desire is to fund an area director for this region."

Thursday was the eighth annual Still Water Scramble golf tournament, benefiting the Still Water Christian Ministries. It was held at the North Shore Country Club in Portland. Funds from the event will go to the Still Water Sports Camp.

A total of 18 teams participated Thursday, including a Channel 3 team featuring our own Jane Monreal, General Manager Dan Robbins and Chief Engineer Ralph Quiroz. The goal was to raise $30,000 at the event.
