Medical Issue Causes Driver to Crash Into Fire Hydrant
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Baldwin Street looked like a geyser Friday morning after a driver smashed into a fire hydrant.
Water shot about 20 feet in the air at the intersection of Niagara and Baldwin, just after 8 a.m. Police said the driver of the green car experienced a medical emergency, causing him to veer off the road and strike the hydrant.
Traffic near the intersection was backed up for over an hour as crews worked to fix the hydrant. The driver was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital, and is expected to be okay.
