Corpus Christi (Kiii Sports)- Friday Night Sports Blitz- Part III
CCISD rivals Moody and Ray begin District 31-4A play tonight with a showdown at Buc Stadium. The Trojans, behind the passing of Junior QB Michael Cantu, took a 21-20 lead at half, but could not keep pace with Ray's bruising mix of passing and power running as the Texans beat the Trojans 49-28 in a game cut short by lighting problems late in the 4th quarter.
Unbeaten Falfurrias brought dozens of Blitz signs to Mathis for yet another district-opener. The Jerseys suffered their first loss of the season as the Mathis defense proved to be the difference in a 12-7 slugfest.
Woodsboro made its first appearance of the season on the Blitz as the Eagles hosted Agua Dulce. This one was never in doubt as Woodsboro ran its record to 5-0 with a 49-0 drubbing of Agua Dulce.
Finally, our Blitz Band of the Week, the Beeville Marching Trojan Band, provide the musical accompaniment for the Marching Scoreboard.
